This is how to prevent your headphones from tangling in two simple steps.
It’s happened to the best of us: you finally get the opportunity to watch that funny YouTube video everyone’s talking about or you want to drown out life’s stresses with some Taylor Swift tunes. You reach into your pocket and take out a tangled, unorganized stringy glob of wires. Instead of enjoying your entertainment, you have to fumble with your headphones for what feels like forever, until you finally untangle them. Well, thankfully this won’t ever have to happen to you again.
Okay, step 1: make a big loop with most of your headphones’ cord. To do so, pinch the part of your headphones’ wire right below the earpieces. Then wrap the cord a few times around your hand until you’ve made a loop with a good-sized piece of wire coming off it.
Now step 2: make a loop that is perpendicular to the first loop. To do this, take the wire loop off of your hand and then grip it in the middle. Next start wrapping the small, second loop around the first loop. Once you finished looping, insert the stereo jack into a half of the big loop and you’re done.
To untie your headphones, simply pull the stereo jack out of the big loop. Then, pull the stereo jack end of the headphones away from the earpiece end and the cable will effortlessly straighten.
