On Tuesday, Apple created two Twitter accounts for Apple News, the company’s news app for iOS that centralizes news from many different publishers.
The main Apple News Twitter account (the one geared towards United States customers), with the username @AppleNews, had 6,996 followers at the time of the writing of this article, which was 6 hours after the account Tweeted for the first time.
According to the Apple News Twitter account’s description and first Tweet, the account’s purpose is to showcase articles from Apple News that have been chosen by Apple’s editors in the United States.
Apple also created a Twitter account for Apple News in Australia (this account's username is @AppleNewsAU) on Tuesday. This account had 134 followers at the time of the writing of this article. It Tweeted for the first time 2 hours before this article was written.

The new Apple News Twitter accounts join the recently created Apple Support account, which was made back in March. Since Apple has made several different Twitter accounts and is still continuing to create more, this may signal that Apple is looking to expand its Twitter presence and create more Twitter accounts in the future.
