Instead of limiting the iPad Pro to only being available with a 12.9 inch screen, Apple may be looking to expand its most expensive type of iPads to include a device with a smaller screen.
According to an article on 9to5Mac, this miniaturized iPad Pro would have a screen size of 9.7 inches, which is the same as that of the iPad Air 2. The smaller iPad Pro will reportedly be compatible with both the Apple Pencil (Apple’s advanced, sensor-oriented stylus) and the Smart Keyboard (Apple’s iPad keyboard case), which are currently only compatible with the 12.9 inch iPad Pro. This is great news for fans of these two accessories, as the 9.7 inch iPad Pro will be priced as if it were an iPad Air, meaning that the device will provide a more affordable medium for using the two accessories than the 12.9 inch iPad Pro.
After displaying the 9.7 inch iPad Pro at a special event that is rumored to take place on March 15, Apple will reportedly release the device on the following Friday, which falls on March 18.
